The pattern sits entirely at the edges here, rust-colored scrollwork and small floral sprigs trace the border while the center stays open and plain. That empty middle is doing a lot of the work, it keeps the rug from feeling busy even with all that detail along the frame.
Being a flatweave, it sits lower and lighter than a knotted pile, so it works well in spots that see more foot traffic, entryways, dining rooms, hallways, without the bulk of a plush rug. The cream field also makes the rust and sage tones in the border read as an accent rather than the main event.
Flatwoven from New Zealand wool in Bhadohi. Since it's woven rather than knotted, expect a flatter hand and a slightly different drape than the pile rugs in this collection.
