Concentric Square Wool Rug in Ivory

Hand-knotted from 100% New Zealand wool, this rug carves a grid of concentric squares into an all-ivory field using carved high-low pile instead of color contrast. The pattern only shows itself through light and shadow, since the squares are raised in relief rather than dyed. It shifts subtly depending on the angle you're viewing it from and the way light hits the room.

Tonal and quiet, it works where you want texture and structure without adding another color to the room, layered under furniture, in a bedroom, or in a study or home office where a busier pattern would feel like too much.
